Tuna Poke
This is my take on tuna poke, and honestly, it’s really just a starting point! The base ingredients here are scallions, ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil, and you can build upon them based on what you have on hand. Some sriracha instead of gochugaru, maybe some ponzu, a few sweet onion slices. The poke bowl would also be delish drizzle in sriracha kewpie mayo.
For 1/2 lb sashimi-grade ahi tuna:
- some scallion greens (~1/2 scallion)
- half inch piece of ginger, grated
- 3 tsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp mirin
- 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp gochugaru
- roasted sesame seed
To make:
- Cut your tuna into cubes
- Toss everything together and let it sit for ~5-10 minutes to marinade a little. Adjust seasoning to taste. Serve with rice + veggies in a bowl, with shrimp chips, wonton chips
