mapo lasagna 👩🏻‍🏫 have been thinking about this for a while and finally got around to testing it out! flavors were 11/10 (boy was rly impressed heh) and i think it’d be even better with some zucchini or eggplant layers next time

@filippoberio_us has a p big range of tomato sauces (8 in total!) including variations with veggies and roasted garlic. for this recipe, i opted for their marinara which has some oregano and garlic but it doesn’t overpower the sauce! all of their sauces are made with 100% italian tomato and no sugar added.

snuck away to austin with these kids @parentsfromshanghai. we needed to go for some dr appointments, but it ended up being the perfect trip to get us out of the house, doing things, and living life ♥️

noteworthy highlights from mom and dad’s first time in atx:
- pretending to be an only child is pretty great 11/10 recommend
- mom loves dancing
- dad finally learned how to smile in photos!!
- there are pecan trees everywhere! mom got so excited about all of them hehe
- dad is not a fan of texas bbq “too tender” (?!)
- ate almost exclusively asian food… asian food in austin leaves something to be desired
- san antonio riverwalk is very cute in almost disney-like way
- mom claims she had “the best mexican food she’s ever eaten” @acenarhotmex
- dragged parents to a texas county bar for a two-step class hehe
- live band came on and mom had so much fun dancing she refused to leave (see: mom loves dancing)
